The Moldavian state district power plant is located in Transnistria (PMR) on the west bank of the Kuchurgansky estuary, on border with Ukraine (Odessa region). Before disintegration of the Soviet Union the station performed power supply of consumers of Moldova, the southern areas of Ukraine. A part of the electric power was transferred to Bulgaria.
In 2005 Moldavian State District Power Plant Ltd was a part of Group of INTER RAO UES.
