The Moscow research radio engineering institute is formed in March, 1956 for the purpose of creation of hardware complexes of radio-link communication and data transmission. The initial name of the enterprise – scientific research institute 129 Ministries of the radio engineering industry. In 1966 NII-129 agrees was renamed into the Moscow research radio engineering institute. In 1980 for a big contribution to development and development of systems of satellite communication of MNIRTI it was awarded the order the Labour Red Banner.
Full modern name of the organization - Joint-stock company "Moskovsky ordena Trudovogo Krasnogo Znameni nauchno-issledovatelsky radiotekhnichesky institut" (JSC MNIRTI).
Formation and development of institute is connected with names of his heads, famous scientists, winners of Lenin and State awards. At different times the institute was headed: Hanevsky G.S., Lipsman F.P., Reguluses, Borisenko M.I., Kukk K.I., Chernyshev I.N., Matiukhin A.P., Rodimov A.P., Danielyan S.A., Genes A.A., Borisenko T. M. Now the CEO of JSC MNIRTI is Nevzorov Yu.V.
The institute for last years entered a powerful contribution to development of a number of the directions of the technology of communication. Its collective develops several generations of field radio relay stations - both direct visibility, and tropospheric stations of over-the-horizon communication. Since the basis MNIRTI participates in accomplishment of complex projects of the state value. Now the institute develops data transmission systems and communications for a management system for air traffic and control of airspace of the country and for control systems of water and air boundaries of Russia. The whole family of the equipment of radio-electronic counteraction is created (RAP) of land and air basing. The institute creates in cooperation with other enterprises of the radio-electronic industry the multifunction complex of information support (MCIS) equipped with means of radio-link, tropospheric, satellite communication and a broadband radio access.
In-depth studies in the field of a very high frequency radio communication were conducted, the Institute was directly involved in creation of the centers of the Single system of satellite communication (ESS), the international system of INMARSAT and the protected objects of satellite communication. Separate activity of the enterprise is made by development of means of REB.
The institute was actively included into the state program on development of pilotless aircraft in Russia and the CIS. Now there is the next stage of formation of the interdepartmental comprehensive target program concerning production and use of unmanned aerial vehicles for 10 years - from 2016 to 2025. Special attention in this program is paid to questions of creation of a scientific and technical backlog and advance preparation of base of serial production of the UAV which should be solved prior to full-scale development. The institute creatively approached the solution of this task. Being guided by results of own theoretical researches, practical design practices and considerable flight practice, the institute developed own UAVs: the option piloted Bumblebee complex and the multi-purpose Teal unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) from chassis on the airbag (ShVP) of the middle class (on classification of the UAV) in which was engaged independently for several last years.
For the history MNIRTI grew in one of the leading research institutes in the development areas and creations of modern means of communication. In traditions of institute careful attitude to experience of the past and persistent search of new scientific and engineering solutions are successfully combined. Experienced highly qualified personnel and the available solid scientific and technical backlog allow institute to perform successfully works on development and improvement of traditional and perspective means and communication systems and also to creatively solve also other tasks set for it the state.
