2025: Resort Construction

In Buryatia, on the shore of Lake Baikal, an all-season ski resort "Mount Bychya" will be built with an investment of ₽45,9 billion. The project is being implemented within the framework of the Baikal Harbor special economic zone and was approved at a meeting of the expert council in March 2025. The new tourist complex is designed for a year-round flow of guests and will include ski infrastructure, hotels and service facilities.

The new resort is planned to be a key tourist attraction in Eastern Siberia. The infrastructure of the complex will be focused on year-round functioning, providing various types of recreation depending on the season.

In winter, the resort will have access to more than 40 kilometers of modern ski slopes of various levels of complexity with an appropriate system of cable lifts. In the summer, tourists will be offered tracking routes, bike paths and environmental activities that allow you to enjoy the unique nature of the Baikal region.

It is planned to build a hotel infrastructure on the territory of the complex, including hotels of categories from 3 to 5 stars, a spa complex, restaurants and a congress platform for business events and conferences.

Representatives of the project emphasize that the resort will become a powerful incentive for the development of tourism not only in Buryatia, but throughout the Baikal region. According to experts, the implementation of the project will create more than 4 thousand new jobs and significantly increase the tourist flow to the region.

Work on the project has already begun - the investor has begun to develop project documentation. The implementation schedule provides for the start of construction surveys in 2025, and the commissioning of the first resort facilities is scheduled for 2027.[1]
