2019: Sale by Veeam Software company

On October 21, 2019 Veeam announced sale to N2WS company which it purchased nearly two years before. At the same time detailed information on the transaction is not disclosed: it is unknown who purchased solution provider for cloud backup and disaster recovery of AWS and at what price.

The representative of Veeam reported to the CRN edition that the company is going to provide more detailed information during the Microsoft Ignite 2019 conference which will take place on November 4-8 in Orlando, the State of Florida. Also in the company told the following:

In several months after Veeam announced acquisition of N2WS at the beginning of 2018, the U.S. Government requested information on the transaction. After some discussion with the American authorities in the first half of 2019 of Veeam voluntarily made the decision to sell N2WS to focus on development of a single cloud platform. The transaction on sale of N2WS was closed recently.

Partners of Veeam consider correct the solution to sell N2WS as some large service providers with whom Veeam cooperates should compete with this company.

Dan Timko, the main strategist on projects of cloud backup in J2 Global company (also the partner of Veeam), agrees that sale of N2WS is "a smart step", considering concern of the federal authorities of the USA.

Veeam gets rid of what distracts it. Veeam is this company with turnover in one billion dollars — he noted.

At the same time Timko added that Veeam relations with N2WS regarding backup of AWS were not a problem for J2 Global, and J2 did not lose any client because of this cooperation.^[1]

2018: Acquisition by Veeam Software company

The Veeam Software company, solution provider for ensuring continuous work of business (Availability for the Always-On Enterprise), in January, 2018 announced acquisition of N2WS company. The total cost of the transaction was $42.5 million.

By Veeam calculations, this acquisition will expand possibilities of the company on protection of the AWS environments and will strengthen positions of the company in the market. N2WS will be a part of Veeam Company, but will save the brand and an opportunity to work as the autonomous enterprise.

In particular, under the terms of the transaction, N2WS will continue to work as the independent company with the main offices to West Palm Beach of the State of Florida in the USA; in Haifa in Israel; in Edinburgh in Great Britain. Jason Judge will continue to fulfill the CEO's duties, and all command, including sales departments, marketing, R&D and customer service, will remain without changes further to develop business of N2WS.

It is expected that the combination of two factors, such as distribution of use of the products Veeam in the corporate sector and data protection using N2WS technologies for the public AWS cloud environments, will allow to deliver solutions which will help business of any size to operate with the large volume of data in public clouds, receiving the corresponding economy of means and other advantages.

With acquisition of N2WS Veeam company will get access to technologies, N2WS research and development to integrate data protection for the AWS environments into Veeam Availability Platform.

In turn, N2WS will receive: access to developments and experience of Veeam in the field of providing data protection for virtual, and now and for physical mediums; access to a wide ecosystem of partnership and alliances Veeam, including about 55 thousand resellers and 18 thousand participants of the Veeam Cloud Service Providers program.

In the nearest future Veeam is going to release a packet of special offers and privileges for Cloud Protection Manager (CPM) from N2WS.
