The Board of Directors of the NBR BRICS approved the provision of another $1 billion to Brazil and India under the emergency assistance program to the member countries of the bank in the fight against the consequences of the pandemic.
Brazil's sovereign loan to restore the economy affected by the pandemic was approved on December 7. "The program will support the Brazilian federal government in its efforts to preserve jobs and incomes, and support economic recovery by expanding access to credit for small and medium-sized companies," the document says.
A similar loan for the Indian government was approved on December 11.
