2023: Launch of internal combustion engine production for drones
The St. Petersburg Scientific and Production Association "AMB" (NPO "AMB") has begun production of internal combustion engines of its own production for aircraft-type drones. The first batch of 30 products is aimed at test sites and Russian manufacturers. The company told about this in early October 2023.
You can use engines on different types of drones. Their power is 3.5 horsepower, the message says.
In the future, NPO AMB expects to increase production to several hundred products per month, depending on demand. According to the co-owner of the company, Roman Aniskov, in this case, an expansion of production and, as a result, an increase in investment will be required. If the company needs to open its own foundry, then the amount of necessary funding can range from 100 million rubles to 1 billion rubles.
As noted in the industrial block of Smolny, the authorities support the development of the enterprise. Thus, NPO AMB has a positive experience of cooperation with the city Fund for the Promotion of Lending to Small and Medium-Sized Businesses. Since 2016, the company has applied to the fund 12 times for surety. Its total volume amounted to 159.7 million rubles, and the amount of borrowed credit funds - 318.4 million. The implementation of the projects made it possible to increase the number of developments, improve the quality and expand the range of products, the city administration noted.
By early October 2023, NPO AMB is testing other developments in the field of drones: an acoustic system for detecting them and a low-contrast camera.
We took an Orlan-type aircraft drone with a low-contrast camera at a distance of 16 km, when it is still not visible, "said Aniskov.[1] |
