2024: Siemens Mobility sued 321 million rubles from the company

At the end of April 2024, Siemens Mobility, part of the German conglomerate Siemens, sued 321 million rubles from the Voronezh electronics manufacturer, NPO RIF Corporation.

As CNews writes with reference to the ruling of the Twentieth Arbitration Court of Appeal, the indicated amount will be a refund of the advance under the supply contract, which the companies concluded in 2018. The NPO RIF Corporation was supposed to transfer the block of auxiliary transformers for the electric locomotive to Siemens Mobility, but did not.

In 2022, Siemens Mobility abandoned further joint projects with the NPO RIF Corporation, after which the Voronezh enterprise decided to terminate the contract through a court. Then the "daughter" of Siemens demanded to return the advance.

In September 2023, the Arbitration Court of the Kaluga Region fully satisfied the requirements of the Russian daughter Siemens. "The corporation of NGO" RIF "tried to appeal this decision, but the appellate instance upheld it.

According to the publication "Abireg," the representative of the "Corporation of NGO" RIF "called the reason for the failure to import due to EU sanctions into Russia the components from Germany necessary for the production of cooling towers. Siemens Mobility, in turn, noted that the Voronezh electronics manufacturer did not substantiate the difficulties with the supply of components.

By the beginning of May 2024, the Twentieth Arbitration Court of Appeal is considering another dispute between the NPO RIF Corporation and Siemens Mobility. A meeting on this case is scheduled for May 13, 2024. As part of this proceeding, Siemens Mobility demands the return of an advance of 122 million rubles for an undelivered cooling tower for a freight main electric locomotive. In the first instance, the court satisfied the claim of Siemens Mobility against the Voronezh enterprise[1]
