2012: Change of the CEO and start of restructuring

On December 3, 2012 it became known that Mike Darcy, the former operating officer of the British cameraman of BSkyB will become the new head of News International publishing house.

The day before Rupert Murdoch, the head of News Corp corporation who owns News International, announced fast resignation of Tom Mockridge. Mokridzh, the holding post of the head of publishing house since July, 2011, leaves News International at the end of 2012. Its leaving as Murdoch explained, will become the beginning of process of restructuring of News Corp in which publishing business will be separated from entertaining (cinema and television).

Mokridzh headed News International in the middle of scandal because of wiretap in the British tabloids of Murdoch. The previous head of the British division of the company of Murdoch, Rebecca Brooks was forced to resign after closing of the tabloid News of The World under control of it.

Besides, on December 3, 2012 the News Corp company announced closing since December 15, 2012 iPad newspaper The Daily. The electronic tabloid was started in September, 2011, however did not manage to find really large audience. Its founder and the Chief Editor Jesse Angelo was appointed to a position of the publisher of the New York Post newspaper[1].
