In Russia Nutricia began to work in 1994, and in 1995 purchased the plant on production of baby food in Istra (Moscow region) and completely upgraded it.

History

1896: The right to production of milk for babies

The Nutricia company began the way in the small Dutch town of Zotermeer. In 1896 Martinus van der Hagen for the first time in the world acquired the right to production of special milk for babies, similar in structure to maternal milk.

1901: Foundation of the company

In 1901 brothers Martinus and Jan Van der Hagen opened exclusive production of children's dairy mixes. The company they symbolically called Nutricia, in translation from Latin — "wet nurse". Thanks to products of the company thousands of lives of children whose mothers could not provide them breastfeeding were saved.

During the second half of the XX century Nutrition (Nutricia) significantly expanded geography of business and product assortment, having become the international company.

1997: Formation of Royal NUMICO NV

In 1997 the Nutricia company was awarded the title "Royal". The title "Royal" is a special rank in the Netherlands which is not so simple for receiving. Only those companies which within 100 years made an important economic and political contribution to social development of the country receive this award.

In the 1990s of Nutricia and some other the European companies producing baby food formed Royal Numiko company — the leading international concern specializing in production of baby and clinical nutrition. In 1997 the Nutricia company was renamed into Royal NUMICO NV.

2007: Royal NUMICO is a part of Danone

In 2007 Royal Numiko was a part of Danone which the same year created specialized division of baby food of Danone (Danone Nutricia Early Life Nutrition).

Researches

For 2015 Nutricia constantly conducts researches of breast milk and creates the innovation products based on the largest research centers Nutricia Research in the Netherlands and Singapore.
