Omsk Central Airport is one of the oldest Russian airlines, the official date of birth of the airport is May 17, 1929.

Omsk Airport Open Joint Stock Company is a large enterprise in the Siberian Federal District. Omsk Central is one of the thirty best of 330 Russian airports for the transportation of passengers, cargo and mail.

Geography of routes from Omsk-Central Airport (June 2014): Moscow, St. Petersburg, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Gelendzhik, Rostov, Anapa, Krasnoyarsk, cities of the Tyumen North and others, CIS cities, non-CIS countries - Turkey, Greece, Tunisia, Egypt, Thailand, China, UAE, Germany.

As of 2013, the airport cooperates with many carriers, such as Aeroflot, IrAero, Transaero, S7 Airlines, Utair, Russia, Orenburg Airlines, PegasusAirlines, AstraAirlines, AirAstana, AirBishkek and others.

According to the order of the Government of the Russian Federation of March 20, 2008 No. 340-r "Omsk Central" is included in the list of 52 airfields of federal significance necessary for the exercise of the powers of the Russian Federation.

2024

Revenue growth by 8.1% to RUB 1.54 billion

The revenue of the Omsk airport in 2024 amounted to 1.54 billion rubles, which is 8.1% more than in 2023 (1.43 billion). Net profit increased by 6.9% to 120 million rubles. For 2023, the figure amounted to 112.3 million rubles. The airport was able to increase revenues from participation in the activities of other organizations by 51.5%. The interest received from the provided financing brought the organization income by 112.9% more than in 2023. This is evidenced by the data of the company's financial statements for 2024, published in March 2025 on GIRBO.[1]

Passenger traffic growth by 3% to 1.7 million people

The passenger traffic of the Omsk airport in 2024 reached 1.7 million people, which is 3% more than the previous year. According to the press service of the air harbor, the figure recorded in 2024 was the largest in 30 years.

In 2024, the airport in Omsk served 8551 aircraft. Take-off weight amounted to 486,737 tons (+ 5% by 2023). 3,438 tons of mail and cargo were processed (+ 11% by 2023). In 2024, Omsk Airport began serving flights to Nadym, Noyabrsk, Baku and Hurghada.

2012

According to the results of work in 2012, 872,224 passengers were served at Omsk (Central) airport, which is 19% more than in 2011, including:

  • on internal air lines - 689,882 people (15% increase);
  • on international airlines - 182,342 people (an increase of 35%).

About 550 thousand people from Omsk Airport were transported in the direction of Moscow and St. Petersburg, which is 15% higher than in 2011, more than 73 thousand people were transported in the southern direction - Sochi, Anapa, Krasnodar, an increase of 70% by 2011. Communication with northern cities such as Salekhard, Surgut, Nizhnevartovsk, Khanty-Mansiysk is developing widely. In this direction, more than 17 thousand passengers were transported from Omsk airport, which is 12% higher than in 2011. 4.8 thousand people were transported in the directions of Khabarovsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsky, which is 76% higher than in 2011. The number of passengers transported in the direction of Vladivostok amounted to more than 16 thousand people, more than 6 thousand - to Irkutsk and Yakutsk.

The expansion of the network of interregional transportation, the development of which is paid great attention both at the federal and regional levels, which led to the opening of new directions such as: Novosibirsk, Novy Urengoy, Beloyarsky. At the end of 2012, about 7.5 thousand people were transported in this direction.

New destinations were also opened to non-CIS countries such as: Dubai, Sharjah (UAE), Larnaca, Paphos (Cyprus), Beijing (China). Thanks to this, the number of passengers transported to non-CIS countries increased to 174 thousand people, which is 34% higher than in 2011, including:

  • 60.9 thousand people - to Antalya and 14.6 thousand people - to Istanbul (Turkey),
  • 22.5 thousand people - in Hanover and Dusseldorf (Germany),
  • about 8 thousand people - in Heraklion and Thessaloniki (Greece),
  • more than 36 thousand people - to Egypt, China (Beijing - more than 7 thousand people), Cyprus, Tunisia.

More than 8 thousand people were transported to neighboring countries - Astana (Kazakhstan), Baku (Azerbaijan), Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), which is 51% higher than in 2011.

In 2012, 7115 aircraft were serviced at Omsk Airport OJSC (an increase of 5% compared to the same period in 2011). The total maximum takeoff weight was 324,006 tons (an increase of 12%). At the Omsk (Central) airport, 3,798 tons of mail and cargo were processed - an increase of 4% by 2011.

According to the Aviation Market newsletter, Omsk Airport ranks 27th in the transportation of passengers on domestic and international airlines in January 2011, and 29th among Russian airports in the transportation of goods and mail.

History

May 17, 1929 - the official date of birth of the Omsk airport. On this day, the Fokker C-4 plane took off from Irkutsk to Novosibirsk, which then took a course with relay mail to Omsk. On the first day of work, two aircraft arrived at the Omsk airfield.


In 1930, a school of glider pilots Omgorosoviakhim was opened in Omsk. A year later, P-5, ANT-9, then - K-5, PO-2 planes appeared.


On May 15, 1931, the Moscow-Novosibirsk air passenger service opened on three-engine aircraft of the ANT-9 type. The flight duration from Omsk to Moscow is 14 hours, from Omsk to Novosibirsk - 3 hours.


1931-1932 - Omsk air station becomes a hub. For the first time, planes from Omsk depart for Obdorsk (Salekhard) via Tavda. During these years, V.S. Molokov, one of the first pilots - Heroes of the Soviet Union, mastered new air routes. The first buildings of the airport were the premises of the inactive mill of the merchant Emelyanov.


1932 - the first local airline Omsk-Bolsherechye-Tara opens, the first terminal building was built, a special application aviation unit was organized with subordination to the 210th flight detachment of Novosibirsk.


1933 - Omsk Airport is included in the service of winter passenger and postal freight traffic.


1934 - Omsk Airport becomes a hub on the West Siberian Highway. The 7th night transport detachment was formed, which during the Great Patriotic War became an air detachment of special applications.


On August 8, 1936, a ANT-25 landed in Omsk, flying on the route Moscow - Udd Island (Far East). Omsk met the participants of the flight V.P. Chkalov, G.F. Baidukov and A.V. Belyakov, who overcame 56 minutes 20 kilometers without landings in 9374 hours.


On February 12, 1937, the plane of the N-120 polar pilot F.B. Farikh, flying on the Moscow-Wellen-Moscow route, landed at the Omsk airfield. Up to this point in the winter, no one has flown this track yet. The pilots visited almost all polar winters located along the coasts of the seas of Chukotka, Laptev and Kara.


In 1941, a distillation squadron was created, which provided a passage from the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur of 117 long-range bombers to the front line. Many Siberians became the heroes of this war. Omsk pilot M.A. Makarov was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.


In 1945-1946, only PO-2 landed at the Omsk airfield, transporting no more than two passengers at a time. The post-war period was marked by the development of new high-speed aviation equipment: IL-12 (1947), An-2 (1950), IL-14 (1954) appear on airlines.


On September 15, 1956, the first regular flight of the world's first Tu-104 jet aircraft arrived at Omsk Airport.


In the 60-70s of the twentieth century, active construction began. On October 8, 1958, a new terminal was opened (later this building became the terminal of local airlines). It housed a waiting room with 100 seats, a restaurant, an operating room with a help desk, cash desks, a storage room, and a telegraph.


1963 - the airport building in Tara was built. Tarsky airport served 10 settlements, delivered passengers, mail, spare parts to state farms, enterprises of the forest industry, provided an invaluable service for the urgent delivery of patients to Omsk and medicines, doctors to taiga areas.


1970 - the modern airport terminal building of Omsk Airport was commissioned, designed to serve 700 passengers per hour.


1991 - the volume of transportation of passengers, mail and goods reached a peak. Departures of passengers excluding transit reached almost a million people a year. In the summer, more than 100 flights were received per day. Omsk Airport is becoming one of the largest on the Moscow-Far East highway. The cities of the Far North, Central Asia are connected through Omsk to the main highway. The city is connected with more than 80 cities of the Soviet Union. Further development is received by small aircraft. 17 district centers and settlements are connected by airlines with Omsk.


In 1994, the airline team was divided into Omskavia and Omsk Airport. Later, air traffic control controllers are distinguished from the unified structure of the airline.

In March 1997, Omsk Airport was given international status.

In 2000, the lighting equipment was replaced, a year later a major overhaul of the runway was carried out.

2000 - Omsk Airport was awarded the Crystal Nika Cup, as well as a diploma from the international organization Partnership for Progress.


2005 - the construction of a modern emergency rescue station for the search and rescue support service of Omsk Airport flights was completed. In the same year, the Omsk Airport was awarded the title of regional leader by the International Academy of Management in the nomination "Highly Efficient Organization of Passenger Services."


In 2006, as part of the ongoing reconstruction of the terminal, the passenger service system at check-in changed. Automated passenger registration systems were introduced: Sabre, SITA, Regina, Kupol, Astra. Since 2007, passengers have been able to be served at the Omsk airport by e-ticket.


In 2006 and 2007, the company was awarded diplomas of the sixth and seventh All-Russian competition "Russian Organization of High Social Efficiency."


On June 11, 2009, President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on the transfer of federal shares of Omsk Airport to the ownership of the Omsk Region.


In 2010, the reconstruction of the terminal of internal air lines was completed. This made it possible to improve the quality of passenger service and contributed to the expansion of the route network.


In 2011, new taxiways and parking areas were put into operation, which made it possible to remove restrictions on the operating mode when servicing a number of aircraft: V-737 (200, 300, 400, 500, 700, 800), V-757, A-319-100, A-320-214. In the same year, the airport was allowed to receive CRJ-200, An-148, Emb-120 aircraft.


In 2011, Omsk Airport Open Joint-Stock Company was awarded a diploma of the winner of the competition "Best Airport of the Year of SNG-2010 Countries" in the nomination "Dynamically Developing Airport" in the category of airports with passenger traffic of up to one million people per year.


In June 2012, the international terminal was overhauled. At the same time, an international departure checkpoint was organized in the right wing of the terminal of internal air lines. These events made it possible to significantly improve the quality of passenger service. As a result of their implementation, the intensity of flights along international lines increased. In the same year, the station square was reconstructed, an automated parking complex was put into operation on its territory.

In 2012, work was carried out to expand the geography of domestic and international flights. Flights to the countries of the near abroad were opened to Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Baku (Azerbaijan), Yerevan (Armenia); Non-CIS countries - to Beijing (China), Dubai (UAE). The opening of the first regular international flight by a foreign low-cost carrier PegasusAirlines to Istanbul took place with a wide spread across European countries .

In 2012, Omsk Airport was awarded the Cup and Certificate of Honor as the winner in the nomination "For Great Contribution to the Development of Production" of the competition "The Best Airport of the Year of the CIS Countries" for 2011, held by the Airport Association.

On July 31, 2012, Omsk Airport Open Joint Stock Company was admitted to the Omsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which includes representatives of business, industrial and financial groups.

On February 15, 2013, the Museum of the History of Omsk Airport OJSC was opened, the creation of which was worked on by both professionals and employees of the organization, veterans of the Omsk enterprise. The creation of the museum was preceded by a lot of work on collecting information, archival documents, photographic materials, ancient things related to the aviation industry and directly to the Omsk air squad.

On April 23, 2013, the Omsk Airport Engineering and Aviation Service received the EASA Part-145 European certificate, which allows self-maintenance of Boeing 737 aircraft in accordance with the rules and requirements of the European aviation authorities EASA. Based on the received certificate, troubleshooting and replacement of components on the technical base of the service directly in Omsk can be carried out.


On May 28, 2013, at the general annual meeting of members of the Airport Association of Civil Aviation, the results of the competition "The Best Airport of the Year of the CIS Countries" were summed up. According to the results of 2012, Omsk Airport became the winner in the category of organizations with an annual volume of transportation from 500 thousand to 1 million passengers.
