Omsk State University of Railways (OMGUPS)

Omsk State University of Railways (OMGUPS) is one of the oldest higher educational institutions in Siberia. Currently, the university conducts training (and retraining) in 26 specialties, ten areas of undergraduate studies and six areas of master's studies in three institutes, six faculties, 27 departments. About 13 thousand students study at OmGUPS and its branches, about 500 teachers work, most of whom have academic degrees and titles.

2022: Opening of research laboratory together with Omsk Research Institute of Instrument Engineering

Holding Roselektronika"" State Corporation Rostec Omsk state and the University of Railways opened scientifically a research laboratory "Technologies." artificial intelligence The laboratory will be engaged in research in the field of the application of artificial intelligence in promising radio communication systems. This was reported by Roselektronika on March 3, 2022.

The laboratory was created on the basis of OMGUPS together with the Omsk Research Institute of Instrument Engineering, which is part of Roselectronics. The opening ceremony was attended by the rector of the university Sergey Ovcharenko and the general director of ONIIP Vladimir Berezovsky.

The laboratory will develop standard and castomized technical solutions based on the application of VR technologies, big data technologies, machine training of deep neural networks and artificial intelligence for the tasks of machine-building and railway production.

We are opening such joint laboratories to ensure that our graduates meet the world level. Not only ONIIP, with which we have long and successfully collaborated, needs personnel: this is the need of Russian Railways, which is actively developing digital and VR technologies.
