One TV
History
September 15, 2012 – Start of the digital platform in the capital of the Kingdom of Cambodia Phnom Penh. Sales of the first day exceeded all expectations of experts.
October, 2012 – Opening of call center of One TV for first and round-the-clock technical support of clients both in English, and on local languages.
November, 2012 – Sales points of services and operator network cover all 9 provinces of Cambodia. The first advertizing campaign of One TV starts.
December, 2012 – The number of subscribers reaches 25,000 everything for the first three months of sales of the equipment, having exceeded rates of a gain of a subscriber base of all other operators of the country. Broadcasting covers 9 provinces of Cambodia. One TV becomes the first national digital radio operator (DVB-T format), having made digital television available to 70% of the population of the country.
January, 2013 – Many families meet new 2013 with modern computers, TVs, a subscription of One TV, the accessibility to different services – all this prizes which Cambodians could win in the competition organized by the operator. The service of account replenishment via the electronic Wing system, popular in the region, is entered.
February, 2013 – New package offers are available. One TV flexibly adapts to preferences of Cambodians concerning telecontent. Packets receive names in Khmer. Subscribers get access to many long-awaited Asian channels.
March, 2013 – One TV starts the first in the market of paid TV of Cambodia the program of microcredit through National bank of the country – Acleda bank. The program includes various opportunities: bonuses at the second connection, a non-interest bank loan, purchase in leasing.
April, 2013 – One TV congratulates Cambodians on the Khmer New year expansion of set of channels and a lottery, the first prize – a trip for two to the Great Wall.
May, 2013 – The operator starts the stock "Multirum": the price of the second and the subsequent receivers for subscribers decreases twice.
June, 2013 – The project is presented at the Broadcast Asia 2013 exhibition in Singapore. The international experts highly appreciated the project, having called it "model for further digitalization of the countries of Asia" which will accelerate process and will make it effective.
July, 2013 – The number of available channels reaches 68. The campaign for interest-free repayment in one payment of a debt for the receivers purchased in leasing starts.
August, 2013 – The operator begins production of own unique content in Khmer. One TV Karaoke and One TV Cinema channels are started. The audience has a long-awaited opportunity to watch favourite Khmer movies and to sing in a karaoke on a mother tongue.
September, 2013 – One TV continues to improve content. The number of channels is going to increase up to 80, including culinary channel AFC, popular in Asia.
2016: GS Group sold One TV in Cambodia
On March 24, 2016 the investment and industrial holding GS Group announced sale of a controlling stake of the Cambodian operator of the digital radio TV of One TV, thereby having successfully completed an investment cycle of the project. As the buyer the partner of holding – The Royal Group of Companies conglomerate (Kingdom of Cambodia) acted. The means received by GS Group during the transaction will be directed to implementation of projects, priority for holding, in other markets.The project of One TV became one of the first-ever successful models of program implementation of the digitalization of national television performed under the auspices of the International Telecommunication Union (International Telecommunication Union, ITU) on the basis of technologies, competences and investments of private company – GS Group holding. In three years under control of GS Group One TV holding became the most large-scale Tvoperator in the country with a scope over 70% of the population and the highest growth rates of sales among competitors. By the end of 2015 of GS Group completely carried out the investment tasks in the project and made the decision on sale of a controlling stake to the partner. An exit of holding from One TV became end of the first investment project GS Group on creation and development of digital television in Southeast Asia.
One TV – an example of successful export of the Russian technological solutions, the first in the history of Russia, in the field of telecasting on international market. Emergence of the paid digital television national platform completely changed a TV viewing format in Cambodia. The operator offers 80 digital TV channels of different subject, including 6 own channels with popular content in Khmer.
