Since October 2012, PSPU named after V.G. Belinsky became part of Penza State University as the Pedagogical Institute named after V.G. Belinsky.

In 1948, the institute was named after fellow countryman, critic and writer V.G. Belinsky.
1939-1941: Creation of PSPU
