Since October 2012, PSPU named after V.G. Belinsky became part of Penza State University as the Pedagogical Institute named after V.G. Belinsky.

1948: Assignment of the name V.G. Belinsky

In 1948, the institute was named after fellow countryman, critic and writer V.G. Belinsky.

1939-1941: Creation of PSPU

Penza State Pedagogical University is the oldest educational institution in the region, with rich traditions, leading its history from the teacher's institute founded in 1939. In 1941, the Penza State Pedagogical Institute was created on its basis.
