Papa (service for elderly)

2018: Start of Papa service

At the end of August, 2018 it became known of the Papa service intended for elderly people. They can invite students for rendering the various help. The main goal which is pursued by authors of the project consists in solution of the problem of loneliness of old men.

The Papa company carefully checks, selects and employs pupils of colleges to help pensioners — to go to shop behind products, to visit the doctor, to clean up the house or to train in use of social networks and gadgets. It is possible to call "the grandson for an hour" through mobile application, by phone or by e-mail. The grandfather or the grandmother tells about the wishes and requirements, and on their basis employees of service select the assistant.^[1]

The Papa application allows aged people to call "the grandson for an hour" — the student from college which will help to make purchases, will bring to appointment and will be tidied up at home

For use of service two tariff plans worth $ $15 and 30 are provided. Plus in each hour of communication with the employee of service needs to be paid for $15. In the most expensive rate the choice of a certain assistant and his arrival according to the schedule — in a certain day of the week is possible.

The average visit lasts three hours, but sometimes students spend at pensioners and 10 hours. Payment also varies depending on complexity of assigned tasks, but cannot make less than $10 per hour. At the same time young people receive only 70% of earned.

Service is popular when family members have no opportunity to look after elderly relatives or when old men do not want to disturb any of relatives. Sometimes students from Papa are invited just for communication.

Take only patient, sensitive and experienced interlocutors in Papa. Many of them already work in the field of health care or are engaged in social work. On average the company hires only 4% of applicants. By the end of August, 2018 in Papa there are 500 students.^[2]
