2020: GitLab purchased Peach Tech

In the middle of June, 2020 announced GitLab companies acquisition of technology companies Peach Tech and Fuzzit for the purpose of improvement of DevOps-tools. Both startups develop software for information security at so-called indistinct testing (when accidental data as input data are applied to a system when testing software).

More and more developers address group practice of automation of DevOps known as DevSecOps which allows to detect and correct potential vulnerabilities at early stages of a development cycle. The chief executive of GitLab Cyd Sidbrandy explained:

Implementation of technologies of "accidental" testing of Peach Tech and Fuzzit in software will provide for security of GitLab to our users even more reliable method of verification of applications. These tools at the same time simplifies workflows and allow to cooperate to groups of development, security and operation.

The main competitor of GitHub created by Ukrainians purchased the companies for improvement of DevOps-tools

Peach Tech and Fuzzit provide solutions for "accidental" testing or fuzzing is a method of automatic software testing which bombards the code invalid, unexpected or accidental data in attempt to confuse an algorithm, to overload or complete operation of application. It allows to imitate potential attempts of cracking, to estimate reaction of the application and to correct it before the code is started in work.

Data retrieveds allow rapid response teams to manage jointly the risks of security connected with development and deployment of applications and to eliminate these risks at early stages.

Clients of GitLab Secure will get direct access to completely integrated solutions within the DevOps tool kit, including to testing of security of Auto DevOps, interactive testing of security using the mechanism of an applications interface DAST Peach Tech and technology of correlation of failures Fuzzit.^[1]
