History

1959: Creation of the company

On December 30, 1959 - a birthday of the Penza state technology university, earlier - the Penza state technology academy, still earlier - the Penza Institute of Technology, the former plant technical college.

The plant technical college is absolutely new higher education system which rod - harmonious connection of training with production. Students of institute not only did practical training at the enterprises, but also during study improved the skill, improved skills and left walls of university experienced specialists. The main secret of high demand on graduates of the Penza plant technical college as still call our University also consists in it.

The technical college represented the specialized higher educational institution training specialists in the order of the enterprises. Focus on specific production increased the value of graduates of technical colleges.

1994

In 1994 the Plant - the technical college was transformed to the Penza Institute of Technology (PIT).

Scientific and pedagogical potential of PENZGTU formed all its long-term history inseparably linked with formation and development of the industry of the city and area. The best traditions of technical college are carried on today by the faculty of the university. More than 70% of teachers have academic degrees of doctors and candidates of science. Among them there are scientists with a world name: V.I. Levin, V.V. Ryzhakov and others.

1991

The important place in educational process is taken by ADP equipment. The university locates the telecommunication center, a network digital library, publishing house. In 1991 based on INTERNET it is unrolled and actively the point of open access where students and employees can obtain necessary information from any available source at any time works.

The technology university is one of the few Russian universities which have own art gallery made of pictures of modern artists. Constantly updated exposures are unrolled in educational audiences, lecture halls and computer classes. Began good tradition to hold regularly at the university personal exhibitions and meetings with the famous Penza artists.

Experience under agreements with the specific customer, the strong and checked by time communications with the enterprises and the organizations of the Penza region, and of course, the unique technique of training of specialists allowed the university to reach strong market position of educational services of the region. In the conditions of market economy there was demanded long-term experience of PENZGTU on individual training of specialists on specific jobs and positions. At the same time, special conditions of formation of economy in Russia, keen competition in labor market forced to look for new pedagogical techniques and training aids. Therefore quite natural was an orientation to informatization of educational process on all engineering and economic specialties. Informatization of education is an active information exchange which purchased global character, and became the defining sign of the level of development of society. Process of widespread introduction of information technologies caused the necessity to cardinally change approach to providing material and methodical resources of educational process. Now the university equipped the educational classes with the most modern computing systems and programs. On the majority of disciplines main trainers developed author's rates, both on paper, and on electronic carriers.

For several years the Penza state technology university implements the regional program "University — the Guarantor of Equal Opportunities in Education". This program is directed to preserving of intellectual potential of the Penza region, broad involvement of talented youth to creative participation in educational programs and to world information resources. Methodical base of this program is the technology of distance learning which is creatively developed in university. Rich traditions of the Russian correspondence course and an innovation of a number of foreign countries in the field of remote education are the cornerstone of this technology. The sharp social orientation of the carried-out work and also its value for the Penza region allows to say that the university opened the new page of the biography.

2004

In 2004 the Penza State Technology Academy (PSTA) was created.

2013

in 2013 - the Penza state technology university (PENZGTU).

Today PENZGTU is an educational institution with wealth of experience and traditions of training of specialists in various areas of the modern equipment and economy, with the developed material and technical resources and highly skilled personnel potential.

PENZGTU as the state educational institution has the License and accreditation of the Ministry of the general and professional education of the Russian Federation, issues diplomas of the state sample. The university trains specialists in necessary to modern production, and often and to unique specialties for which public market of work of area.

Cardinal change of material resources and methodical ensuring educational process allowed to increase viability of the university in the conditions of market economy.
