Perfobur

Perfobur is a Russian developer of radial well drilling technology founded in 2015, using, according to the developers, an innovative method to intensify the flow of oil and gas. The technology allows you to "reanimate" already closed wells. It does not cause much damage to the environment (Ecology in Russia), unlike hydraulic fracturing. By July 2021, Perfobur allows drilling radial channels up to 15 m long and 69 mm in diameter, it is possible to create up to four channels within one tier.

History

2021: Raising $9 million

At the end of July 2021, it became known about the investment of $9.3 million, which was attracted by Perfobur. About this, its general director Ilya Galas told Kommersant.

Most of the investments came from the venture fund Runtech Ventures, which received a share of 23% in an oilfield service startup. The rest was invested by Phystech Ventures and a number of angel investors. The founders of Perfobur Ilya Galas and Ilya Lyagov own another 25%.

Perfobur intends to use the funds received to increase the volume of work in the Russian market, in the Middle East, in the USA and Central Asia, to develop a platform for analytics and well monitoring.

Earlier, Perfobur entered into contracts with large Russian oil companies Rosneft, Lukoil, TATNEFT, as well as with American, Uzbek and Kazakh firms.

An investment of $10 million is a fairly large deal for a Russian oil service technology startup, said Karen Dashyan of Advance Capital. According to him, the companies of this segment have significant potential, including international. Over the past five years, the focus of oil companies has shifted to increasing the efficiency of existing assets, and the technology of Perfobur for drilling radial channels just allows you to increase the well production rate and ideally falls into this trend, the expert notes.^[1]
