History

1927

In 1927, in honor of the 10th anniversary of October, the farm received the name - "Sophia Perovskoy," and the Massandra winery still houses the unique Riesling Alcadar wine of the 1929 and 1946 harvests.

1890

In 1889, the estate was sold to the south-coast wine merchant Fyodor Stahl, who already in 1890 laid new vineyards, and also built a house with extensive wine cellars. Fyodor Stahl renamed "Primorskoe" to "Alcadar" (according to legend, having tasted the first wine here, he exclaimed in the language "Thousands and one night": in Arabic "alk dar," which means "divine command"). So, 1890 became a landmark in the development of the winery. This figure honorably took its place above the entrance to the ancient wine cellars, which are used to this day, and in honor of this significant event, a limited series of wines of the Perovsky Manor - "1890" was named.

1834

The Perovsky Estate winery was founded in 1834 by Nikolai Perovsky, the illegitimate son of Count Razumovsky. His father Alexei Kirillovich Razumovsky was an incredibly educated person - a privy councilor, senator, minister of education, father of five children in an official marriage, as well as the ancestor of the illegitimate branch of the Perovskys.
