2023: Payment of a fine of 1 million rubles for a bribe to the head physician

Saratov pharmaceutical company Pharm-Invest paid a fine for a bribe to the head physician. The press service of the prosecutor's office of the Saratov region announced this on March 16, 2023.

It was established that in the period from March 10 to March 22, 2022, the director of Pharm-Invest LLC transferred funds in the amount of over 190 thousand rubles to the chief doctor of the medical institution as a bribe for ensuring timely payment of the current contract.

The prosecutor opened an administrative offense case in the organization under Part 1 of Art. 19.28 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (illegal remuneration on behalf of a legal entity). According to the results of its consideration, the legal entity was fined 1 million rubles, the regional prosecutor's office said. They also added that Pharm-Invest LLC, in accordance with the period established by law, voluntarily paid an administrative fine.

Earlier, the prosecutor's office of the Saratov region reported that on this fact, the head physician was sentenced for taking a bribe (paragraph "c" of part 5 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and against the director of the company for giving a bribe to an official (paragraph "b" of part 4 of article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The names in the supervisory authority are not specified, as well as the name of the hospital. As the publication "Pharmaceutical Bulletin" writes with reference to the data of the file cabinet of the Kirovsky District Court of Saratov, the former head physician of the Engels City Hospital No. 2 Sergei Dodin appears in the case. In August 2022, he was assigned a fine of 1.5 million rubles, and the court also deprived him of the right to hold positions in the public service related to organizational, administrative and administrative activities for three years. In December 2022, the head of Pharm-Invest LLC, Alexander Sorokin, was fined 500 thousand rubles.[1]
