2023: Preferential medicines suspended in Primorye due to hacker attack

The issuance of preferential medicines in the Primorsky Territory was suspended due to the hacking of the IT system of the pharmacy network. On July 14, the Minister of Health of the region Anastasia Khudchenko wrote about this in her Telegram channel.

Today, a hacker attack was carried out on the information system of the regional warehouse of preferential drug dispensing of Pharmacy JSC. High multi-stage information protection has been compromised. Only partial access has been preserved, as well as the ability to manually ensure the issuance of urgently important drugs. The temporary issue of preferential medicines has been suspended so far, she said.

According to Khudchenko, the Ministry of Health, together with law enforcement agencies, is working to promptly restore the information system and provide preferential categories of citizens with medicines. At the same time, on July 14, 2023, the regional Ministry of Health found it difficult to name the approximate timing of the restoration of the system of dispensing preferential drugs and the possible reasons for the hacker attack.

Ovita.ru employees reported that the sale of drugs was temporarily suspended in all branches for an indefinite time. The rest of the large pharmacy chains, including Gosapteka, continue to operate as usual.
