The Pirate Party of Iceland is created on the Swedish model, however it has own ideas on such problems as data protection and also concerning development of Iceland as the countries. Their offers seem attractive in Iceland which wants to break the developed status quo more and stronger.
Birggita Yonsdyottir, the former volunteer of WikiLeaks, is one of founders of the Icelandic Pirate Party, having created it in 2012 together with other activists and hackers. By words Yonsdyottir, the Icelandic Pirate Party can feel a wind of change, it sees the future of a technology revolution. In the recent interview it told that "we should be the innovation for fight against political apathy".
But what she wanted to tell these? So, the Pirate Party works hard within political system and supports the peaceful political revolution based on bigger political transparency and to involvement of broad masses in policy.
The Pirate Party wants to increase participation of the public in decision making process, having provided them direct access to process via the Internet. In their system the public would be capable to offer and reject laws, using a party online system for vote.
Yonsdyottir also said that the Pirate Party would like to implement such offers as the resolution offered the UN "The right to personal privacy during a digital era". The resolution directed mainly to elimination and suppression of illegal methods of shadowing from different governmental bodies regardless of the purposes and intentions was substantially ignored by the different countries.
Success of a batch and also its popularity are caused also recently by the fact that traditional batches seriously suffered after financial crisis of 2008. Besides, the prime minister Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson after the "Panama" scandal resigned recently. Many Icelanders felt that time for changes came, and voted for Pirate Party.
