History
2022: Sale of Russian business
At the end of June 2022, the Finnish manufacturer of harvesters and tractors Ponsse announced the sale of the Russian business to Bison. The value of the deal, which is scheduled to close in the third quarter of 2022, has not been announced.
According to Kommersant, Bison LLC is owned by Alexei Voronkevich, whose company Dormashimport has been responsible for the retail sale of Ponsse logging equipment in the eastern regions of Russia since 2007. The authorized capital of the company is 100 thousand rubles. The company was registered on May 23, 2022.
It is noted that the sale of the Russian subsidiary will not have a significant impact on the profit of the Finnish manufacturer.
Ponsse announced its intention to abandon its activities in Russia on June 15, 2022. Ponsse's export and service operations in Russia were suspended from March 2, 2022, when the company announced the suspension of all exports to Russia and Belarus.
We were looking for ways to solve the difficult situation with activities in Russia. We decided to abandon work in Russia and Belarus. It has become very difficult to work in Russia, and the sale of assets is the best option for our staff, customers and dealers. We will continue to restrict exports to Russia and Belarus in accordance with the economic sanctions and guidelines of our company, - said the President and CEO of the Ponsse Group Juho Nummela in mid-June 2022.[1] |
