2022: Creation of a fund for $100 million

In mid-February 2022, it became known about the creation in the United States of the venture fund Prospective Technologies Ventures (PTV) in the amount of $100 million. He will invest in Russian and Eastern European early-stage B2B startups focused on global markets and medium and large businesses.

The fund was founded by the former director of IIDF for portfolio management Sergey Negodyaev and the former head of the department for customer service in industry at VTB, Alexander Kuraksin, who also managed the portfolio of development projects in the USA, Europe and the Middle East at the investment company Metric Investment Group. The investment director of PTV was the former portfolio manager of FRIA Nikita Yuryev.

According to Vedomosti, citing a representative of PTV, by mid-February 2022 the fund had two closed transactions totaling about $2 million, two more transactions under signing, three at the stage of discussing the conditions, about 30 startups under consideration, several pilot projects for American customers are underway.

Among the most interesting areas for the fund are software development, IT infrastructure, digital marketing services, and the industrial Internet of Things. He is ready to invest in them from $100 thousand to $3 million.

According to Sergei Negodyaev, the fund will help startups from Eastern Europe get used to the US market: meet with the first American customers, sign the first deals. The main goal is to increase the startup's chances of successful sales in the American market. Potential customers and investors of PTV portfolio startups are American corporations with roots from Russia. Basically, these are companies - integrators of technological solutions, with whose top managers the founders of the fund were already familiar before, the publication says without specifying the names of investors.[1]
