2025: Launch of a steel structure plant for ₽2,4 billion in the Nizhny Novgorod region

The SMK Group of Companies, a large manufacturer of industrial and construction metal structures, announced the launch of an enterprise in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, in which it invested ₽2,4 billion. The opening ceremony of the first stage of the production complex took place in April 2025 on the basis of SMK Kulebaki JSC.

According to Interfax, the implementation of the investment project made it possible to double the production capacity of the plant - from 24 thousand tons to 48 thousand tons of metal structures per year. The project provided for both the modernization of existing production and the construction of new production facilities. As a result, more than 500 new jobs were created.

In the Nizhny Novgorod region for ₽2,4 billion launched a plant for the production of metal structures

The opening ceremony of the updated production was attended by the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of SMK Group Alexander Shamsutdinov.

The plant in the Nizhny Novgorod region became part of the SMK group in 2002, from that moment a phased modernization of production began. In the period from 2023 to 2025, a large-scale investment project was implemented to expand and modernize the production building for the production of structures of increased complexity, and the fleet of technological equipment was completely updated.

SMK Kulebaki specializes in the production of metal structures that are used in the construction of bridges, overpasses and overpasses, as well as warehouse terminals. At the current stage, the company is mainly focused on the production of structures for industrial facilities of the oil and gas and chemical industries.

The Company has significant experience in the supply of steel structures for the construction of large facilities, including the Omsk Oil Refinery, the Amur Gas Processing Plant, the Vyksa Metallurgical Plant and other significant industrial complexes.

QMS Group of Companies also includes QMS Shadrinsk JSC (Kurgan Region), QMS Orsk LLC (Orenburg Region) and the design bureau of KM-Center LLC (Nizhny Novgorod).[1]
