The Quality Electrodynamics (QED) company is the company founded in Ohio in 2006 by doctor Hiroyuki Fujita with the purpose to revolutionize medical visualization by means of advanced technologies. QED developed the new production technology of radio-frequency (RF) of coils/antennas for the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

History

2019: Canon purchased Quality Electrodynamics

At the beginning of November, 2019 the Canon company acquired a controlling stake (70%) of QED. It is planned that QED will save the present name and will become autonomous subsidiary company Canon. The headquarters of the producer of coils for MRT-scanners will remain on the present place in Mayfield-Villidzh (USA).

The MRT radio-frequency coils are noninvasive medical devices which facilitate collecting of diagnostic data at MRT. QED heads development and creation of the advanced, cost-efficient solutions for leading manufacturers of the original equipment MRT. In particular, QED conducts researches on design, development and production of new devices for quality improvement of service of patients, improvement of diagnostic imaging, improvement of process optimization and ensuring comfort of the patient. Products of QED can be found in the leading hospitals and medical research institutes worldwide.

It is planned that QED will save the present name and will become autonomous subsidiary company Canon.

One of board members of QED told that the new stage of the relations with Canon opens before QED and its 175 employees huge opportunities. "Now, when we will get access to the most modern technologies of image processing of Canon, QED will receive the new platform for innovatsinny developments", - the CEO of the company doctor Hiroyuki Fujita noted. Fujita will remain the company executive and will save the share fraction. He will also become the technical director of MRT-department of Canon Medical Systems.[1]
