RFP Group is one of the leading lumber holdings in Russia, created as a result of the unification of logging enterprises in the Far Eastern region and the largest shipping company in the Khabarovsk Territory.

History

2021: Iida Group bought 75% of RFP Group

In October 2021, it became known that the Japanese concern Iida Group, engaged in wooden house building, buys 75% of the largest forest company in the Far East, RFP Group. The corresponding petition was filed with the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia.

According to RBC, the value of the transaction may amount to $150 million. These funds will allow the RFP Group to increase refining capacity, establish the production of elements of wooden house building, as well as refinance loans. According to another source, Iida invests more than 10 billion rubles (more than $140 million) in the development of the RFP Group.

Iida Group bought 75% in the largest forest company in the Far East

The remaining 25% of the RFP Group will remain with the current shareholders of the company, a source familiar with the terms of the transaction told the publication. The perimeter of the deal with Iida will include all forest and timber assets of the RFP Group. It is assumed that the transport assets of the company, including the Amur Shipping Company and the port of Blagoveshchensk, will continue to be owned by Russian shareholders.

Earlier in 2021, the RFP Group announced plans to develop existing and create new timber processing plants with a focus on the Japanese market and with the participation of a strategic investor from this country. According to Roman Romanovsky, Deputy General Director for Development of RFP Group, entering the capital of a Japanese investor will open up prospects for the holding to develop deep wood processing products.

By October 2021, the key assets of the RFP Group are Dallesprom, Flora and Amur Shipping Company. The company has leased plots with an authorized cut of 3.7 million cubic meters. m per year. RFP Group owns five river ports, its own logistics by river, sea through the Amur Shipping Company and 140 river and sea vessels, as well as the railway. Amur Shipping Company provides transportation of forest products of the holding to the main markets to the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.[1]
