History
2024: Current and former top managers of MTS and Maxima Group bought out shares of Radio Gigabit
On January 9, 2024, it became known that the Nizhny Novgorod developer of telecommunications equipment Radio Gigabit changed its ownership structure. The American Radio Gigabit Inc. left the founders of the organization, and the shares were redistributed among themselves by the current and former top managers of MTS and Maxim Group of Companies.
According to the Kommersant newspaper, the change of ownership of Radio Gigabit Systems LLC (the management company of Radio Gigabit) is associated with the current geopolitical situation. Until the end of 2023, the company was 99.6% owned by Radio Gigabit Inc., while the remaining 0.4% was owned by its CEO Vladimir Ssorin. After changing the composition of the founders, shares were redistributed between eight individuals. 25.9% is with the technical director of Maxim Group Mikhail Minkovsky, 20.3% with the general director of Maxim Telecom SZ Igor Kalyuzhny, 14.6% with the former vice president of MTS Andrei Ushatsky, 13.1% with the ex-general director of Radio Gigabit Roman Maslennikov, 7.3% with Vladimir Ssorin, 6.7% with Vsevolod Illarionov, 6.1% with Alexei Artemenko and 5.6% with Minskaya.
Market participants believe that in fact we are not talking about the sale, but about the restructuring of property. If earlier the same persons owned Radio Gigabit through the American Radio Gigabit Inc., then after the reorganization they entered the capital directly.
At the same time, according to sources of Kommersant, in the future the company can be sold to a major Russian player in the telecommunications market. In particular, Yadro may apply for the acquisition of Radio Gigabit to implement a number of its projects: the development of 5G base stations and 1440 communication satellites. In this case, Yadro is primarily interested in qualified specialists of Radio Gigabit[1]
