2021: Ex-hospital employee received suspended sentence for stealing money from cards through patients' smartphones
A doctor in the Amur region escaped with a suspended sentence for stealing money from cards through patients' smartphones. The corresponding verdict at the end of April 2021 Raichikhinsky city court.
He found the 33-year-old woman who worked in the Raichikhinsky city hospital guilty under Part 1 of Art. 159.1 of the Criminal Code (fraud) and part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code (theft) and sentenced her to two years and four months in prison with a probation period of two years. The mitigating circumstance was the presence of three children.
According to the investigation, in October 2019, the doctor, having access to the patient's medical history, used the personal data of one of the women and, through the Internet, issued a consumer loan for her for almost 10 thousand rubles. At the same time, she provided her bank card data for transferring money, but did not pay the loan.
In addition, in October and November 2019, the convict, working with patients of the city hospital, took advantage of their painful condition and, having access to the cell phones of patients, repeatedly transferred money from their bank accounts.
So, from one patient, she stole a SIM card with a connected mobile bank service and transferred money from her bank account to her mobile phone number and issued Internet purchases in the amount of 8,000 rubles. Later, the doctor stole about 27,000 rubles from a man. For several days, she secretly took the patient's phone and transferred money to her bank card through SMS messages. The total amount of damage caused by the doctor of the Raichikha city hospital is not reported.
Since 2011, the convict worked as a doctor in the Raichikha city hospital - she restored patients after a stroke. The woman pleaded guilty in court.[1]
