2024: Raising $12M
On January 18, 2024, it became known that the London startup Recraft, founded by former Yandex employee Anna Veronika Dorogush, attracted $12 million in investments for development. The funds received are planned to be directed to the development of neural network technologies.
Recraft has created an AI-based system that can generate images for brands based on their corporate identity. Unlike most raster-oriented generative artificial intelligence tools, the Recraft service can also create vector files. Thus, the generated images can be applied in the professional field. Users can create content in a corporate style using links to viewing descriptions as the basis. The system offers layouts, fonts, colors, etc.
The funds in the amount of $12 million were received as part of the Series A funding round. The investment program was headed by Khosla Ventures and former GitHub CEO Nat Friedman. In addition, RTP Global, Abstract VC and Basis Set Ventures participated in the program. Investors include Zhenya Loginov (former chief revenue officer at Miro), Dharmesh Shah (founder and chief technology officer at HubSpot) and Akshay Kothari (co-founder of Notice).
As of early 2024, the Recraft service uses the Stable Diffusion neural network to generate images. The money raised will be used to develop its own neural network platform. It is assumed that this will improve the quality of images and eliminate existing restrictions.
I truly believe AI is capable of redesigning and influencing the way we view the world. Recraft is designed to meet the requirements of professional design, generate images in the same style and high-quality vector illustrations suitable for everything from advertising to digital marketing materials, says Dorogush.[1] |
