2025: Introduction of 3D denture printing printers

In December 2025, the Regional Dental Polyclinic of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (GBUZ "Regional Dental Polyclinic") introduced new digital equipment. It is intended for automated manufacture of dentures.

According to the regional news portal Sakh.online with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Sakhalin Region, the equipment of the clinic included a milling machine, intraoral and laboratory scanners, seven photopolymer 3D printers and a specialized printer for working with metal alloys.

In
Russia, began to print dentures on a 3D printer

This equipment allows you to move from manual fabrication of structures to digital protocol: oral scanning, computer modeling and automatic production.

According to the official website of the NovaDent network of dental clinics, the key advantage of digital dental technologies is individualization and speed. 3D printing allows you to create prostheses with perfect accuracy for the anatomy of the patient, which reduces the period of addiction. In addition, the manufacturing process is reduced to one visit: after scanning the oral cavity, the finished product is produced automatically, saving the patient from a long wait with temporary structures.

Vyacheslav Kucherenko, head physician of the Regional Dental Polyclinic of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, noted that the transition to digital format completes the three-year process of modernization of the institution. According to him, "10 out of 15 installations have already been put into operation in the main building of the clinic, the rest will be sent to units in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk." Thus, 75% of the equipment has already been updated in the institution, Kucherenko summed up.

The right to free dental prosthetics in the clinic remains for privileged categories of citizens. This list includes participants and veterans of the Great Patriotic War and SVO, citizens over 70 years old, the poor, as well as non-working disabled people of groups I and II (men over 60 years old and women over 55 years old). Free orthopedic treatment is provided by referral from the attending physician at the place of residence with a frequency of once every five years.[1][2]
