2025: Incoming 500 units of new medical equipment in 3 years

As of October 2025, a large-scale update of the health care system continues in the Donetsk People's Republic. Modernization is carried out at the expense of federal funding and targeted programs. For three years, the Kalinin Republican Hospital received more than 500 units of new high-tech equipment.

According to the Chairman of the Government of the DPR Andrei Chertkov, 52 units of complex equipment were supplied to 21 medical organizations of the republic. These include 6 magnetic resonance imaging units MRI (), 11 devices computed tomography (), 4 CT angiographic systems and 31 units of X-ray equipment. Hospitals also received 456 new vehicles, including 46 mobile medical stations.

Chertkov noted that a major overhaul of 97 facilities in 38 medical institutions was carried out. Five new facilities were built, including the perinatal center in Donetsk and the Mariupol multidisciplinary medical center of the FMBA. In 8 districts, 18 mobile feldsher-obstetric stations were installed.

Ivan Plakhotnikov, the head physician of the Kalinin Republican Hospital, said that a regional vascular center for the treatment of strokes and heart attacks and a regional endocrinological center have been opened on the basis of the medical facility. This innovation made it possible to double the scale and facilitate the receipt of complex medical care.

According to TASS, the Kalinin Republican Clinical Hospital is a multidisciplinary institution designed for 1151 beds, including 63 places in the intensive care unit. Medical care is provided in 32 areas. In 2024, 28.7 thousand patients received inpatient treatment, and the number of outpatient visits exceeded 222 thousand.[1]
