2023: A midwife's fine of 40 thousand rubles for violation of medical secrecy

The Rezhevskaya City Court of the Sverdlovsk Region satisfied the requirements of the prosecutor's office of the city of Rezh to bring to administrative responsibility the medical worker of the Rezhevskaya Central District Hospital (CRH). The press service of the regional prosecutor's office announced this on February 21, 2023.

According to this report, the midwife, while at the workplace, using a social network, during personal correspondence with a third party, disclosed information constituting a medical secret without the consent of the patient.

According to the results of the audit, the city prosecutor's office to the chief doctor of the State Autonomous Institution of the Sverdlovsk Region "Rezhevskaya Central District Hospital" made an idea of ​ ​ eliminating violations of the law, according to the results of which the responsible employee was brought to disciplinary responsibility, measures were taken to prevent such violations in the future.

In addition, according to the materials of the prosecutor's check, the midwife of the district hospital was found guilty of committing an offense under Art. 13.14 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (disclosure of information with limited access) with a fine of 40 thousand rubles.

According to the publication "Medical Bulletin," the reason for checking compliance with the requirements of the legislation on medical secrecy was the information of a local resident. He suspected that one of the employees of the Central Regional Hospital disclosed data on his treatment to third parties, and filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office.

The applicant indicated all the information about how, where and in what way the violations were revealed in his appeal, - said the portal of the Rezhev city prosecutor Nikolai Udalov.

The prosecutor's office also sent an idea to the administration of the Central Regional Hospital on the elimination of violations. The hospital has already reported on the measures taken. The culprit was disciplined.^[1]
