History and structure

JSC Interregional Distribution Grid Company of the South was founded on June 28, 2007, by decision of the sole founder - JSC RAO UES of Russia. Initially, IDGC of the South OJSC included five distribution network companies (RSK): Astrakhanenergo OJSC, Volgogradenergo OJSC, Kubanenergo OJSC, Rostovenergo OJSC, Kalmenergo OJSC, but on March 31, 2008 they ceased their activities and four of them became part of IDGC of the South OJSC.
The largest shareholders of the company were Rosseti OJSC (51.66%) and Lancrenan Investments Limited (9.28%).

The company has four branches: Astrakhanenergo, Volgogradenergo, Rostovenergo, Kalmenergo, which carry out work in the Astrakhan, Volgograd, Rostov regions, and the Republic of Kalmykia, respectively.

Activity

IDGC of the South OJSC transmits electricity through electric networks with a voltage of 110 kV - 0.4 kV and connecting consumers to electric networks in this territory. The company operates on a total area of ​ ​ more than 334 thousand square kilometers, which is almost 2% of the territory of the Russian Federation. About 8.5 million people live in this territory. IDGC of the South OJSC has more than 1,220 substations with a voltage of 35-220 kV with a total capacity of 18,710 MVA and more than 31,000 transformer substations with a voltage of 6.10/0.4 kV with a total capacity of about 5,000 MVA.
