2023: Construction of a health resort for 8.4 billion rubles

In March 2023, the head of the Novgorod region, Andrei Nikitin, announced the construction of a resort and recreation complex in Staraya Russa. The project was called "Rusich," it is planned to invest a total of 8.4 billion rubles in it.

According to Nikitin, the new resort will be designed for 380 rooms, more than 550 people will work there. The project is being implemented jointly with the Туризм.РФ Corporation within the framework of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry."

We have all the prerequisites to create a unique resort, which will have both its own source of mineral water and its own source of healing mud. A new thermal complex with open and closed pools will be created at the resort, including an open year-round pool with heated water, - said the project director Alexander Koshkin, whose words are TASS.

He also noted that the new complex will become a new point of attraction for the region. In addition, a mud bath, a tennis court, a sports center, playgrounds, a spa, a restaurant and a medical center will be opened there.

The legal entity of the resort - Rusich Resort and Recreation Complex LLC - created the Туризм.РФ state corporation in February 2023. The Civil Code reported then that the Rusich sanatorium is planned to be built in Staraya Russa, where the health resort of the same name is already operating. Andrei Nikitin thanked Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and colleagues from the corporation for choosing the Novgorod region as a platform for implementing such a significant project.

According to Nikitin, 1.7 million tourists visited the Novgorod region in 2022. The total number of rooms in hotels, hotels and other accommodation in the region increased by 7%.^[1]
