2026: Launch of liquefied gas storage equipment

In January 2026, it became known that industrial production of cryogenic tanks for liquefied natural gas and technical gases was established in the Vsevolozhsk district of the Leningrad region. The project was implemented by the Russian Boiler company with the financial support of the Industrial Development Fund (FRP).

The total investment in the project amounted to 182 million rubles, of which 145 million rubles were provided by the FRP under the Component Products program. According to the press service of the fund, the production capacity of the enterprise allows the production of up to 240 pieces of equipment annually.

In the Leningrad region launched the production of equipment for storing liquefied gas

Natural gas in liquefied form occupies about 600 times less space compared to the gaseous state. This makes it possible to significantly increase the efficiency of logistics and storage. The technology of operation at relatively low pressure further increases the level of safety of operation.

According to the Russian Boiler company, imported products occupy about 65% of the Russian cryogenic tanks market. The output of the new enterprise to the design capacity will make it possible to replace part of foreign supplies. The company's planned share in the domestic market is estimated at 7%. The key consumers of products will be domestic oil and gas processing enterprises, and the chemical industry.

Cryogenic isothermal tank design includes two vessels. The inner vessel is made of special stainless steel resistant to extremely low temperatures. It is placed inside the external carbon steel housing. Space between vessel walls is filled with vacuum. This design ensures that the temperature of the contents is kept below minus 153 degrees Celsius for a long time. The design life of these tanks reaches 20 years.[1]
