1996: Creation of SUAL
In 1996 the company participated in creation of Siberian-Urals Aluminium Company (SUAL). Leonard Blavatnik was the board member of the company and owned 47.5 percent of shares of the company, and after its consolidation with Russian aluminum joined the board of Rusal.
2011: Conflict with Deripaska in Rusal
In December, 2011 media reported the conflict between Blavatnik and Victor Vekselberg's SUAL and the largest shareholder of Rusal, En company + Oleg Deripaska.
