The deal between Schneider Electric and the manufacturer of electrical equipment "Electric Shield" began in 2010, when the French bought the first 50% of the Samara enterprise for 10.2 billion rubles. Schneider Electric plans in the next five years not only to maintain, but also to increase the level of investment in Russia. This was stated by Schneider Electric President in Russia Jean-Louis Stasi (Jean-Lois Stasi) at a press conference on the completion of the transaction to acquire a 100% stake in CJSC Electroshchit Samara:

"Over the past five years, we have invested a total of about 700 million euros in the development of Schneider Electric in Russia, and over the next five years we plan to maintain this level of investment. We invest more than in Russia only in China, and it is significant that Russia has now come in second place in the Group after China among the BRICS countries. The acquisition of Electric Shield Samara CJSC will allow us to offer new solutions and products for industrial consumers in the oil and gas and mining industries, utilities. In addition, we plan to use the image and business contacts of the newly acquired company to actively participate in the development of smart networks and increase the energy efficiency of the transmission and distribution power grid complex in Russia, "said Jean-Louis Stasi
.

He also noted that the completion of this transaction would be impossible without the support of the FAS and the Russian Government.

"We managed to quickly establish a constructive dialogue, understand the problem and make a quick decision that suited both the FAS and our company. It should also be noted that the Government and the FAS have an excellent attitude towards us as a foreign investor, which stimulates us to further investment in the Russian economy, "he concluded
.
"In the last three years, CJSC Elektroshchit Samara has annually invested over 20 million euros in the development of production, and in 2013-2014 we are going to increase the level of capital investments in these assets," said Power Joachim Dams, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CJSC Elektroshchit Group of Companies - TM Samara, Senior Vice President, Head of Business Unit Schneder Electric in Russia and the CIS. - We will support and train talented employees, develop research and development bases.
