A new cancer center opened in Saratov for ₽6,5 billion

The construction of the cancer center began several years ago, initially its opening was planned for 2022, then the dates were postponed to 2023. However, the facility received final permission for commissioning only in December 2024.

Denis Greifer also commented on the situation with the complaints of the medical staff of the new cancer center. In early January 2025, employees of the institution sent letters to the governor and head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, informing about the conflict with the new chief physician, which led to the dismissal of a number of specialists. The regional Ministry of Health conducted an audit, which, according to the deputy minister, did not reveal significant violations in the work of the institution.

After clarifying questions from journalists, Denis Greifer admitted that six doctors really left the oncology dispensary, but new specialists were taken in their places. The representative of the department claims that the balance in the number of dismissed and accepted medical workers is in a positive zone.[1]
