This is the final point of the trunk oil pipelines of JSC "AK Transneft" in the Krasnodar Territory, providing oil transportation to the fields of Western Siberia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan.

As of July 2015, 1.5 billion tons of hydrocarbons have been shipped at the Shesharis transshipment complex since the first Likhoslavl tanker was loaded in 1964.

Infrastructure of the complex

In 2015, the Shesharis transshipment complex includes a tank farm with a capacity of about 1.3 million cubic meters. m, a process tunnel with pipelines through the Markhot ridge with a length of 3.3 km, process pipelines with a length of 92 km, auxiliary facilities. Transshipment capacity - up to 40 million tons per year.

For transshipment through the port of Novorossiysk, oil accumulates at the Shesharis and Grushovaya sites, while the Grushovaya site carries the main load due to the larger capacity for storing oil and oil products.

Hydrocarbon raw materials are delivered to the tanks of the industrial site through the Tikhoretsk-Novorossiysk-1.2, Krymsk-Grushovaya trunk oil pipeline system, as well as by rail through the system of loading and unloading overpasses. Oil products are received from tank cars arriving at the Grushovaya site by rail[1].

Tunnel "Grushovaya - Shesharis"

In August 2015, Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the commissioning of the Grushovaya-Shesharis technological tunnel.

"The new pipeline did not just connect the production sites, it connects together all the links of the complex, the entire technological process. This makes it possible to significantly simplify and optimize the reception, storage, shipment of hydrocarbons and their further transportation through the port of Novorossiysk, as well as guarantee high world standards of environmental and industrial safety and at the same time transshipment of more than 40 million tons of oil and oil products per year, "Putin said during the tunnel launch ceremony
.

The construction of the Shesharis-Grushovaya tunnel required 8 billion rubles. Two industrial sites - "Grushovaya" and "Shesharis" - are located at a distance of 12 km from each other.

The new tunnel is a 3.2 km reinforced concrete structure with nine pipelines through the Markoth Ridge. The facility, built to replace the tunnel in operation since 1967, connected the Grushovaya and Shesharis production sites and became an integral part of the South project for transshipment of oil and oil products in the export direction.
