2022: Blacklisted by the United States for cooperation with the Russian Federation
In the second half of June 2022, the administration of US President Joseph Biden blacklisted five Chinese companies for allegedly providing support to Russian military and defense companies before and during the military conflict in Ukraine.
The US Department of Commerce has blacklisted Chinese companies, which imposes an actual ban on American companies from exporting their products to these companies, as well as products made using American technology. The list includes companies that do not have worldwide fame, such as Connec Electronic, King Pai Technology, Sinno Electronics, Winninc Electronic and World Jetta (HK) Logistics.
All companies listed on the list are engaged in the supply of various electronic components and devices, including processors, instrumentation, sensors, etc. Some companies from the list openly indicate that they operate in the Russian market. The company's King Pai Technology website says its products also include military electronics.
Our actions today send a strong message to businesses and individuals around the world that if they try to provide support to Russia, the U.S. will cut them off, Alan Estevez, the undersecretary of commerce, said in a statement. |
The inclusion was announced amid growing U.S. concerns about strengthening ties between Beijing and Moscow, especially after Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin signed a statement in February 2022 calling the Sino-Russian partnership "limitless." In March 2022, China announced its readiness to provide military assistance to Russia, which also caused alarm in Washington.[1]
