History

2016: In the SkyDNS database - more than 9 million sites

As of June 2016, tens of thousands of home users, organizations and educational institutions were customers of the company. The company's servers at that time were located in the cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Kyiv (Ukraine). The service database contained more than 9 million sites divided into 50 + categories.

2011: Going beyond Russia

On June 30, 2011, the Russian Internet filtering service SkyDNS went beyond Russia and created its own DNS center in Ukraine. Thus, SkyDNS became the first SaaS Internet filtering service operating in Ukraine. Services for Internet filtering of malicious sites, parental control and blocking banners provided by the company were available in Ukraine and earlier, however, the creation of a server platform for a cloud service directly in Ukraine allows you to increase the reliability of the service and increase the response speed for users in Ukraine, Belarus and western regions of Russia. Currently, the share of Ukrainian SkyDNS users is almost 7% of the total number of users of the service. SkyDNS plans to launch commercial tariffs for home users, organizations and schools with expanded functionality, develop the services provided and improve the quality of the database of categorized sites.

As of June 2011, SkyDNS provided a SaaS Internet filtering service based on DNS technology in Russia. The main services offered by the company were services for protection against phishing and virus-infected sites, parental control, blocking banners. The basic set of SKYDNS services was provided free of charge to all customers.
