2024: Revenue growth by 16.5% to RUB 29.69 billion
In 2024, Smartavia Airlines (AK Smartavia JSC) received 29.69 billion rubles in revenue. This is 16.5% more compared to the previous year, when the figure was 25.49 billion rubles. The financial results are reflected in the financial statements, which TAdviser reviewed at the end of April 2025.
The cost of sales on an annualized basis rose by 6.3% - from 24.03 billion rubles to 25.54 billion rubles. Commercial expenses jumped 70.7%, amounting to 234.2 million rubles against 137.19 million rubles in 2023. Management expenses increased by 1.1% - from 581.12 million rubles to 587.51 million rubles. Revenues from the sale of products, goods, works and services reached 29.1 billion rubles, which is 13% more than in 2023, when they amounted to 25.76 billion rubles. Payments to suppliers (contractors) for raw materials, materials, works and services increased year-on-year by 13.8% - from 20.01 billion rubles to 22.77 billion rubles. Expenses in connection with the remuneration of employees for the year did not change, remaining at the level of 2.93 billion rubles.
Gross profit jumped by 182.9% - from 1.47 billion rubles to 4.14 billion rubles. Profit from sales soared by 345%, reaching 3.32 billion rubles against 746.82 million rubles in 2023. Profit before tax in the amount of 5.4 billion rubles was recorded - this is 39% more compared to the previous year, when it was equal to 3.88 billion rubles. Net profit rose by 43.4% - from 3.43 billion rubles to 4.92 billion rubles.
Accounts receivable as of December 31, 2024 are indicated in the amount of 4.54 billion rubles - 26.2% more than a year earlier (3.6 billion rubles). Accounts payable increased by 41.2% - from 10.65 billion rubles to 15.03 billion rubles. Net assets amounted to 7.22 billion rubles.[1]
2023: Revenue growth by 45% to RUB 25.5 billion
In 2023, Smartavia earned 25.5 billion rubles in revenue, which is 45% more than a year earlier. The airline's net profit during this time increased by 78% and reached a record 3.4 billion rubles. Such data on Russian accounting standards (RAS) were published at the end of March 2024.
According to Interfax, citing materials from the carrier, in 2023 its cost of sales amounted to 24 billion rubles, a decrease of 29% on an annualized basis. Gross profit rose by the same 29%, to 1.5 billion rubles.
Long-term obligations of Smartavia at the end of 2023 were measured at 532 million rubles (+ 19% compared to the previous year). Short-term liabilities amounted to 10.8 billion rubles (+ 90%), with most of them occupied by payables in the amount of 10.7 billion rubles (+ 90%). The company did not have borrowed funds either in 2022 or in 2023.
The agency notes that other revenues in the amount of more than 5 billion rubles (-29% compared to 2022), other expenses of 2.3 billion rubles (-26%), as well as management expenses that exceeded 580 million rubles (+ 25%) had a significant impact on the financial results of Smartavia in 2023.
According to Smartavia's own data, in 2023 the airline carried about 3.8 million passengers, which is 17% more than a year ago. Despite the impact of anti-Russian sanctions, in 2024 the company plans to maintain the volume of traffic at the level of 2023, according to the carrier's reports. Interfax draws attention to the fact that in 2022 Smartavia ranked eighth in terms of passenger traffic among Russian airlines.
By the end of 2023, the Smartavia fleet consisted of 11 Boeing 737 aircraft and two Airbus A320 aircraft. The company is based in Arkhangelsk, St. Petersburg and Moscow.[2]

On April S6, 2021, the full name of the company was changed from Nordavia - Regional Airlines JSC to Smartavia Airlines JSC.
