Snark.art is a digital laboratory dedicated to combining art and technology, as well as studying the creative potential of blockchains. Founded in late 2017 by Andrei Alekhine and Michael Liebman, the laboratory works with artists to help them create works using the principles of interactivity, shared ownership and uniqueness of digital objects characteristic of this innovative technology.

History

2021: Receiving $1.5 million investment

Snark.art May 26, 2021 announced the closure of the seed round with an investment of $1.5 million.

The leader of the seed round was the Alpha Capital fund, which supports crypto startups.

Such financing for Snark.art is an opportunity to expand the boundaries of blockchain use, show the other side of the NFT market and make digital art more meaningful. The introduction of your own token is a way to attract the attention of artists and collectors to actively participate in the life of the platform, from curatorial to technological solutions.

Founded in 2017, Snark.art managed to establish itself as a mentor in NFT art. Each drop of the technology laboratory undergoes a thorough curatorial selection: from the moment it hits the platform to the analysis of peace of art and its sale. The main difference between Snark.art and other similar platforms is that it works with artists who already have weight in the traditional art space, and adapts them to NFT as a platform for creativity. The technology laboratory oversees recognized artists with many years of experience in the industry: including AES + F, Kendell Geers, Michael Joo, Recycle Group and many others. In addition, Snark.art has its own production, which supports novice artists and helps them create complex interactive projects that go far beyond ordinary videos or digital images.

The Snark.art platform is designed for those who are tired of the huge flow of NFT without curatorial selection. We believe that blockchain can transform art, and it, in turn, stimulate innovation and promote the use of crypto technologies to a different level. Such funding will be a powerful impetus for the implementation of experimental NFT projects and its own token, the launch of which will contribute to the development of digital art in general, "comments CEO and co-founder Snark.art Andrei Alekhine.

In April 2021, Snark.art supported VFX artist Danil Krivoruchko and helped him produce 3D Ksoids characters. As a result, 1000 collectables were released. Ksoids sales amounted to more than 175 ETH.

2018: Development of the project 89 Seconds Atomized

In 2018, Snark.art, together with Eve Sussman, developed and implemented the 89 Seconds Atomized project: the video installation created by the artist, the technology laboratory divided into 2304 tokens measuring 20x20 pixels. Copies of the original work are in the collections of the London National Gallery, the Whitney Museum of American Art and MoMA in New York.
