The first building transferred to the university (7 Polytechnic St.) was built for the city school No. 10, since 1966 there was a training center of the Krasnodar Polytechnic Institute, since 1971 - a branch of the KPI, until in 1989 it was transferred as the main building for the Sochi Institute of Resort Affairs and Tourism created this year. The main building was the building of the former City Committee of the CPSU (Sovetskaya St., 26-a), which was transferred to a higher educational institution, built in 1969. On April 1, 1997, a branch of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Herzen (founded in 1991), located in another building (8-a Makarenko St.), was attached to the institute, which acquired the status of a university and the name Sochi State University of Tourism and Resort Affairs. Since 1982, a pedagogical school has been located in this building. The new unit became part of the university on the rights of the Pedagogical Institute and internal autonomy. In 2002, the university was transferred a new building on the street. Plastunskaya, 94-a.
History
2024: Agreement with the "Unified Operator" in order to train personnel
The Unified Operator company (part of the Telematics concern) and Sochi State University (SSU) signed a cooperation agreement aimed at the professional development of future personnel in the field of digitalization of the motor transport industry. The agreements involve the participation of students and teachers in joint scientific work and projects to create and implement innovations in the motor transport industry. Concern Telematics announced this on October 17, 2024.
Within the framework of the agreement, "Unified Operator" and SSU plan to build long-term partnerships and implement a number of joint measures to form a highly qualified personnel potential. Representatives of the company during practice, lectures, master classes, trainings will speak as experts of scientific projects, share their many years of experience in the development and implementation of intelligent transport systems on the largest highways in Russia.
SSU students will be able to put their knowledge into practice and, together with experts, work on the design and implementation of intelligent transport systems in these areas.
The agreement involves the involvement of university teachers in cooperation. Joint cooperation will allow them to improve their qualifications and adapt scientific and educational activities in accordance with modern global trends in the field of intelligent transport systems.
