Raising 20 million rubles for the Fastep project

In early March 2020, it became known about the plans of Spider Group to launch a platform with step-by-step instructions based on augmented reality for household and industrial appliances. To develop this solution, called Fastep, the company received a grant in the amount of 20 million rubles from the Innovation Assistance Fund within the framework of the national program "Digital Economy."

The results of the competition were announced back in November 2019, and the approval of the grant took place only a few months later.

Fastep Application Interface

The competitive selection was carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Innovation Assistance Fund, the Russian Venture Company (RVC), the Russian Information Technology Development Fund and the Skolkovo Foundation. They reviewed more than 1,300 applications. 

Spider Group and its colleagues will receive grants for the implementation of the announced solutions. The result will be a new generation of innovative business, which will determine Russia's technological leadership on the world stage and repeatedly compensate the budget for the support provided, the company said in a statement.

Spider also intends to invest its own funds in the amount of 6 million rubles. Thus, the launch of the Fastep platform will cost at least 26 million rubles.

As Spider told Rusbase, by early March 2020, the company had developed a prototype of the Fastep application. The appearance of the Google Play program and the App Store is scheduled for 2020.

The Fastep application has received artificial intelligence technologies that independently determine the model of technology from the camera image. To see the instructions, you need to point the camera at the technique: the application recognizes the device and shows the instructions with augmented reality (AR) elements.

Fastep also offers a suite of development tools (SDKs) to integrate the platform into the applications of hardware manufacturers and retailers. By early March 2020, Spider Group is in talks with potential partners.^[1]
