Sugon

Sugon was founded in the early nineties by the Chinese academy of Sciences and Institute of computer technologies. Long enough it was called Dawning Information Industry – so far in 2014 the management did not make the decision to come for the IPO at the Shanghai exchange. Then the company was renamed into Sugon Information Industry Ltd.

Sugon has own production capacities and development centers. From former "academic" times there was an orientation on development. More than 20% of employees have academic degrees, and divisions of RnD is a half of all personnel.

Sugon specializes in researches, development and production of high-performance computers, servers of general purpose and storage systems, power sources, cooling systems and also provides services in software development, system integration and technical support.

According to  IDC this producer takes the leading positions in China and in Asia in general in a segment of servers and storage systems. Also Sugon possesses the first place in the field of deliveries  of the Hi-End servers  and supercomputers in the market of Asia and the 6th place in the world. One of such supercomputers takes the seventh place in the world on the performance, and the number of the patents which are taken out by Sugon in the field of information technologies is more than two thousand (these falls of 2015). In spite of the fact that the company works in China, its top management is natives of such largest western companies as IBM, Yahoo! and others^[1].
