Main products
Aircraft armament
The parent enterprise of the corporation supplies high-speed aircraft guided missiles of the Kh-31 type in the version of anti-radar Kh-31P (Kh-31PK) and anti-ship Kh-31A; anti-ship guided missiles of Kh-35E type unified by carriers (ship, shore and air). GosMKB Vympel produces guided air-to-air missiles of various types:
- close maneuverable combat (short range) - R-73E (EL);
- medium and long range RVV-AE; R-27R1 (ER1); R-27P (EP); R-27T1 (ET1); R-33E.
The company also supplies air-to-surface missiles, as well as surface-to-air missiles for air defense systems, passive jamming devices (UV-30MK), aviation launch and ejection devices (AKU-170E), unguided missile units.
GosMKB "Rainbow" creates a controlled weapon of the air-to-surface class - the "OVOD-ME" complex with a Kh-59ME missile, guided missiles of increased Kh-59MK range, as well as the "air-radar" missile Kh-58E.
One of the main directions of GNPP "Region" is the creation of corrected and controlled aerial bombs (guided bombs and UAB) with various guidance systems. Models and weapons systems for the Navy
Ship missile systems are supplied to ships of the Russian Navy, as well as foreign countries today:
- "Moskit-E" with high-speed anti-ship missiles 3M-80Ye, (GosMCB "Rainbow");
- "Uranus-E" with unified anti-ship missiles 3M-24E, (parent enterprise).
- The Bal-E coastal mobile missile system (Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering) with 3M-24E anti-ship missiles. Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering also specializes in the development of torpedo weapons of surface ships, passive jamming systems.
GNPP "Region" produces:
- a unique weapon complex with a high-speed submarine missile (SPR) "Shkval-E";
- small-size anti-submarine complex of "Pak-E/NK" type, which includes two combat modules. One of them is capable of defeating an enemy attacking submarine, the other is able to intercept and defeat an enemy torpedo;
- APR-3E anti-submarine missile (Oryol-M);
- anti-submarine corrected aerial bomb "Corral-1," etc.
The production and technological base of the corporation covers the entire life cycle of products, from the development of design documentation, the manufacture of prototypes, the conduct of all types of tests, serial production, repair, and to modernization; and in terms of resource development - disposal.
The corporation has the right to carry out independent foreign trade activities for the service and repair of export samples, including the supply of spare parts, units of training and military equipment, personnel training.
Active work is underway to update the main model range. Currently, the following products have reached the final stage of creation:
- aircraft modular guided missiles of the Kh-38ME type;
- aircraft guided missile Kh-59MK2;
- Kh-58UShKE anti-radar missile;
- corrected aircraft bomb KAB-1500LG-F-E;
- ship's complex of missile weapons "Moskit-MVE" with anti-ship missile 3M-80MVYe.
Aircraft modular guided missiles of the Kh-38ME type are designed to destroy armored, durable, easily vulnerable ground single and group, as well as surface objects in the coastal strip.
The Kh-58UShKE anti-radar missile with a wide-range passive radar homing head and a control system based on a free-form navigation system is designed to destroy ground-based radar stations operating in pulsed and continuous radiation modes.
The aircraft guided missile is Kh-59MK2 designed to engage fixed ground targets with known location coordinates, including those without radar, infrared and optical contrast with respect to the surrounding background. The Raketa implements the "let-forget" principle by autonomous recognition of the area adjacent to the target.
An adjustable aircraft bomb KAB-1500LG-F-E with a high-explosive warhead is designed to destroy fixed ground and surface small-sized targets such as railway and highway bridges, military-industrial facilities, ships and transport vessels, ammunition depots, railway junctions.
The ship's missile weapon complex "Moskit-MVE" has an increased firing range. The high supersonic speed of the missile (up to 2900 km/h) in combination with the extremely low (H = 10-20 m) flight height in the final section and the anti-enemy maneuver ensure the high efficiency of the complex in the conditions of using enemy missile defense systems.
Non-core products
The scope of the corporation also includes the production of civilian (or dual) products. These are propulsion systems of emergency rescue systems (DN SAS) of rocket and space complexes, soft landing engines of manned spacecraft, solid-fuel gas generators used in rocket and aviation equipment, as well as in mobile fire extinguishing systems (ICD Iskra).
Thrusters and propulsion systems for spacecraft are produced by TMKB Soyuz.

2021: Entering the top 40 most profitable defense companies in the world
The Russian corporation Tactical Missile Weapons (KTRV) has entered the top 40 most profitable defense companies in the world. The corresponding rating for 2021 in August 2022 was published by Defense News.
In this list, KTRV took 36th place against 42nd line in 2020. The total revenue of the Russian company in 2021 amounted to more than $4 billion. The profit from the supply of military products (PVN) under state contracts reached 98% of this amount and exceeded $3.96 billion, the study says.
Defense News data shows the fragmentation of the defense industry. The exception is individual countries where there are national "champions." The top 10 contractors in fiscal 21 accounted for 52% of defense revenue for the top 100 companies in the industry. That's slightly below the 56% average reported in 2003-2020-year datasets.
Lockheed Martin retained first place in the ranking of the largest defense companies. Defense News data shows Lockheed Martin has consistently held that position since 2003. In terms of revenue, this company at the end of 2021 overtook the nearest pursuer - Raytheon Technologies - by 1.5 times, which is slightly more than the average for 2003-2020 (then the average difference in income was 1.4 times).
The total revenue of the world's 100 largest defense companies in 2021 reached $595 billion, which is 9% more than a year ago. In absolute terms, producer revenues increased by $53 billion, of which Chinese companies accounted for about $19 billion in growth.
In 22 companies, revenues in 2021 fell in comparison with 2020, but in some cases this happened due to the sale of the business. Accordingly, some manufacturers, including BAE Systems, Leidos and Peraton, were able to increase revenues through the acquisition of assets, the report says.[2]
