2023: The Fleet of the Republic of Tatarstan bought all its 45 passenger ships from Tatflot

On December 26, 2023, the Ministry of Transport and Road Facilities of the Republic of Tatarstan announced that Fleet of the Republic of Tatarstan buys all its passenger ships from Tatflot. In addition, the perimeter of the transaction includes the mooring infrastructure of Tatflot.

The Fleet of the Republic of Tatarstan was created by the local government in May 2023 to organize passenger river traffic, as well as to further increase the tourist flow. The authorized capital of the structure amounted to 2 billion rubles. In December 2023, the Tatarstan authorities ordered an additional issue of the company's shares in the amount of 210 million rubles and pay for it with Tatarstan's 25% stake in Tatflot. As of the end of December 2023, the Fleet of the Republic of Tatarstan owns four new vessels - two Meteor-2020 and two ice-class A217-1 ships.

The Minister of Transport and Road Facilities of Tatarstan Farit Khanifov said that 45 passenger ships are bought from Tatflot. According to him, some of these ships are too old and "are not suitable for anything" - they are planned to be exchanged with a surcharge for new ships under the waste collection program. Almost a dozen more old ships "Fleet of the Republic of Tatarstan" will repair.
