Investigators of the TFR filed an absentee charge of multibillion-dollar embezzlement at Taurus Bank to Oleg Belousov. He disappeared in Cyprus, and previously gained fame as a race car driver on Nissan GT-R sports cars. Earlier, he was sent to the international wanted list for involvement in the withdrawal of 550 million rubles through technical companies of Promsberbank. It was reported that his colleagues Ivan Myazin and Boris Fomin were previously convicted and they will soon receive parole. All three closely collaborated with the former deputy head of the "K" department of the SEB FSBDmitry Frolov, who at that time was being tried on corruption charges.
2015: License Revocation
The Central Bank revoked the license from Taurus Bank in April 2015. Taurus Bank pursued a high-risk credit policy, did not create adequate loan loss provisions for accepted risks, and did not comply with the requirements of the supervisory authority's order regarding the restrictions imposed on individual banking operations. In addition, during 2014 and the first quarter of 2015, the credit institution was involved in conducting transit dubious operations, as well as operations to withdraw funds abroad in large volumes. The management and owners of the bank did not take the necessary measures to normalize its activities.
